On-Page SEO Services, Done to a
Published Standard

Most agencies will tell you they optimise your title tags. Very few will tell you what they optimise them to. Our onpage SEO services work to a documented specification exact character counts, defined Core Web Vitals thresholds, internal link targets per page, required schema types and you get the specification before you hire us, along with an audit showing which of your pages currently meet it and which do not.

What On-Page SEO Actually Covers

On-page SEO is everything you control on your own website that affects how it ranks: the words on the page, how they are structured, the HTML around them, how pages link to each other, how quickly it all loads, and how clearly it is marked up for machines to read. It is distinct from off-page SEO, which is about links and mentions elsewhere, and it overlaps with technical SEO at the edges — page speed and schema sit in both camps depending on who you ask.

It is also the part of SEO with the fastest and most reliable return, for a straightforward reason: you are not asking anyone's permission. Earning a link requires convincing a stranger. Fixing a title tag requires an afternoon. Most sites we audit have substantial rankings available to them purely from on-page work already sitting undone — pages competing with each other for the same keyword, title tags truncated in the results, H1s that describe nothing, and content that ranks on page two because nobody ever mapped which page was supposed to rank for what. This work sits within our wider practice as an SEO company in India, and it is usually the first thing we do on any engagement, because content published on a badly structured site underperforms and links pointed at a slow page are wasted.

Our Standard

The Standard We Optimise To

Here is what we actually deliver against, published so you can hold us to it and check it yourself.

01 Title Tags
50 to 60 characters, primary keyword front-loaded, unique across every page on the site, and written to earn the click rather than only to match the query.
02 Meta Descriptions
105 to 155 characters, primary keyword included naturally, ending in a reason to click. Unique per page. Google rewrites these often, but a good one is used more than a missing one.
03 Headings
Exactly one H1 per page, containing the primary keyword. H2s for major sections, phrased as questions where the content answers one. H3s for subsections. No skipped levels.
04 URLs
Under 75 characters, lowercase, hyphen-separated, primary keyword in the slug, stop words removed, and a logical directory structure that reflects how the site is organised.
05 Content
One primary keyword and three to five secondaries per page, mapped so no two pages compete. Depth benchmarked against what is actually ranking rather than an arbitrary word count. Every subtopic the top results cover, plus the gaps they leave.
06 Internal Linking
Ten to fifteen contextual internal links on a long-form page, with descriptive anchor text drawn from the body copy rather than "click here" or "read more". Priority pages linked from multiple relevant places.
07 Images
WebP or AVIF, compressed to 80–85% quality for photographs, served at display dimensions, descriptive alt text on everything non-decorative, lazy loading below the fold, and the hero image preloaded.
08 Schema
BreadcrumbList and Organization as a minimum on every page, plus the appropriate content type — Article, Product, Service, FAQPage, LocalBusiness. JSON-LD format, validated in Google's Rich Results Test rather than assumed correct.
09 Core Web Vitals
Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds. Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds. Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1. We target the stricter tier — LCP under 1.5s, INP under 100ms, CLS under 0.05 — where the platform allows it.
10 Mobile
Designed from 375px width upward, minimum 48 by 48 pixel touch targets, 16px minimum body text, no horizontal scroll, and a PageSpeed Insights mobile score of 90 or above as the target.

Our On-Page SEO Services

End-to-end On-Page SEO built for how travellers actually search, research and book from the first inspiration search to the confirmed reservation.

Keyword Mapping & Intent Assignment

  • Every page gets one primary keyword and a defined search intent, documented in a map. This prevents cannibalisation two of your pages competing for the same term, which splits their signals and ranks neither. It is the most common structural problem we find and almost nobody checks for it.

Title Tag & Meta Description Optimisation

  • Written to the character specification above, unique per page, keyword front-loaded, and written for click-through rather than only for relevance. On established sites this often produces measurable traffic gains within weeks, because you are improving the click rate on rankings you already hold.

Heading Structure

  • One H1 per page, logical H2 and H3 nesting, no skipped levels, and headings phrased as the questions your content answers which increasingly determines whether an AI assistant extracts your answer or somebody else's.

URL Structure Optimisation

  • Clean, readable, keyword-bearing URLs and a directory structure that reflects your site's actual hierarchy. Where existing URLs need changing we map every redirect first, because a URL change without proper 301s is one of the fastest ways to lose rankings you already have.

Content Optimisation

  • Existing pages rewritten against their target keyword and intent, with depth benchmarked against what is currently ranking, gaps filled, and answers placed where they can be extracted the direct answer first, the supporting detail after.

Internal Linking Architecture

  • A deliberate structure rather than whatever accumulated over the years. Hub-and-spoke topic clusters, descriptive anchor text, priority pages linked from multiple relevant places, and a quarterly audit for broken and orphaned pages. This is one of the highest-return activities in on-page SEO and one of the most neglected.

Image Optimisation

  • Format conversion to WebP or AVIF, compression, correct sizing, descriptive alt text, sensible file naming, lazy loading below the fold and preloading the hero. Usually the single largest available page speed gain on an image-heavy site.

Schema Markup

  • JSON-LD implementation of the types your content warrants, validated rather than assumed. Schema is how your prices, ratings, availability and FAQs appear directly in search results, and increasingly how AI assistants read your pages reliably instead of inferring.

Core Web Vitals & Page Speed

  • Diagnosis against real field data rather than lab scores alone, then the work: render-blocking resources, image delivery, layout shift, main-thread blocking, caching and CDN. Measured against the thresholds published above.

Mobile Optimisation

  • Google indexes the mobile version of your site, so the mobile experience is the one that ranks. Touch targets, readable text, no horizontal scroll, and testing on real devices rather than a resized browser window.

AI & Answer Engine Formatting

  • Structuring content so it can be extracted: a direct forty-to-sixty word answer before the supporting detail, numbered lists for processes, comparison tables for versus-queries, self-contained sections, and FAQ schema on question-and-answer content. This is on-page SEO for AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, and it is largely the same discipline applied with more structure.

E-E-A-T Signals

  • Named authors with real bios and Person schema, first-hand experience in the writing, citations to authoritative sources, and visible business identity and contact details. This matters most in categories Google treats as consequential health, finance, legal and it is the reason our own testimonials name the person who did the work.

The Five On-Page Problems We Find on Almost Every Site

01

Two Pages Competing for the Same Keyword

Keyword cannibalisation is the most common structural problem we find, and almost nobody checks for it. Google picks one of your pages and suppresses the rest — frequently choosing the weaker one — while your click data and internal links split between them. Sites that have published for years without a keyword map almost always have several instances.

02

Title Tags Written for a Plugin, Not a Person

“Home | Company Name.” “Services - Company Name.” Titles truncated at 63 characters so the useful part never appears. Or the same title repeated across forty pages. Each of these costs you clicks on rankings you have already earned — which is the most wasteful way to lose traffic.

03

Headings Used for Styling Rather Than Structure

An H2 chosen because it looked the right size, an H1 applied to a testimonial, heading levels skipped from H1 straight to H4. Search engines read heading structure as an outline of your content, so when it is applied visually, the outline becomes meaningless.

04

Images Nobody Has Ever Looked At

Uncompressed JPEGs at four times their display size, filenames like IMG_20240817.jpg, and no alt text anywhere. On an image-heavy site, this is usually both the largest available speed gain and a straightforward accessibility failure.

05

Internal Linking Left to Whatever Accumulated

Important pages reachable only through the navigation, orphaned pages nothing links to at all, and anchor text that reads “click here” on every link. Internal linking is the one ranking lever entirely within your control, requiring nobody’s permission — and it is the one most consistently ignored.

What You Actually Receive

Page-by-Page Audit Spreadsheet

Scores every URL against the specification above, with a pass or fail per element.

Keyword Map

One primary keyword and an intent assigned to every page, with cannibalisation conflicts flagged and resolved.

Rewritten Titles & Meta Descriptions

For every page, supplied as a document you can approve before anything goes live.

Heading Structure Plan

A clear, correct heading outline for every page template on your site.

Internal Linking Plan

Names the source page, target page and anchor text for every link we recommend.

Schema Code

Validated and ready to deploy — no cleanup required on your end.

Core Web Vitals Report

The specific fixes required, written precisely enough for a developer to act on without further explanation.

Everything Is Yours to Keep

If you would rather have your own developer implement it, we will hand it over and answer questions — we would rather be useful than protective about a spreadsheet.

Is Your Site On-Page Ready?

Six checks you can run yourself in about twenty minutes.

01

Does every important page have exactly one H1, and does it contain the keyword that page targets?

02

Are any two of your pages targeting the same keyword?

03

Are your title tags between 50 and 60 characters, and unique on every page?

04

Does your homepage pass Core Web Vitals on mobile in PageSpeed Insights?

05

Do your key pages have at least ten contextual internal links pointing into them?

06

Does your site have valid schema, and has anyone run it through the Rich Results Test?

Our free audit runs all six across your whole site rather than one page, and returns a prioritised list with an estimate of what each fix is worth.

Our Process

How We Work

Five stages. Nothing hidden, nothing that only makes sense to another SEO.

01

Full-Site Audit

Every page crawled and scored against the specification above. You get a spreadsheet listing each page, what fails, and the priority order — not a PDF of screenshots.

02

Keyword Mapping

One primary keyword and an intent assigned per page, cannibalisation identified and resolved, and gaps flagged where a target keyword has no page to rank.

03

Implementation

Page by page, in priority order — highest-value pages first, so the return starts before the project finishes. We implement directly where you give us access, or hand your developer a specification precise enough to build from.

04

Technical Performance

Core Web Vitals, image delivery, schema and mobile, measured against field data rather than a one-off lab score.

05

Verify and Iterate

Re-crawl to confirm every change landed, then track click-through rate and ranking movement page by page. On-page changes are unusually measurable — you can attribute a CTR change to a specific title tag rewrite, which is rare in SEO.

Pricing

On-Page SEO Pricing

On-page SEO is commonly priced three ways: per page, as a one-time site optimisation project, or as part of a monthly retainer. Internationally, per-page rates run roughly $50 to $300, and one-time site projects run $500 to $5,000 depending on page count. Indian agency packages typically start around $199 a month for a small site. Our rates sit well below the international figures for equivalent scope.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose NL Technologies for On-Page SEO

We publish our standards

The specification above is on this page, not buried in a proposal. You can check our work against it, and you can check this page against it too.

You get the audit whether or not you hire us

The full-site audit is free and the spreadsheet is yours. If you have a developer who can implement it, do that instead — we would rather be useful than protective.

We work at page level, not campaign level

Reporting shows what changed on which page and what happened afterwards. On-page SEO is one of the few areas where cause and effect can actually be traced, and we report it that way rather than hiding individual pages inside a site-wide total.

A named person does the work

KK Sharma leads our SEO practice and is named in our client testimonials by the clients themselves. You will know who is working on your site, and you can talk to them.

Reporting

What You See Each Month

A plain-English summary sits at the top for anyone who does not want the detail.

Page-Level Change Table

What was changed, when, and what happened to impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average position afterwards.

Core Web Vitals

Tracked against the thresholds, so you know exactly where you stand on speed and mobile experience.

Schema Validation Status

Confirmation that your structured data is valid and correctly implemented.

Remaining Audit Items

What is still outstanding from the original audit, with its priority.

A short written summary of what moved and what we are doing next — in plain English, before any of the tables.

On-Page SEO FAQs

What is on-page SEO? +
On-page SEO is the optimisation of everything on your own website that affects rankings: content, HTML elements like title tags and headings, URL structure, internal linking, images, schema markup, page speed and mobile usability. It is distinct from off-page SEO, which covers links and mentions on other sites, and it is the part of SEO you control entirely.
What is the difference between on-page and off-page SEO? +
On-page SEO is everything on your website — content, HTML, structure, speed. Off-page SEO is everything outside it — backlinks, brand mentions, citations, reviews. On-page tells Google what your page is about and makes it worth ranking; off-page tells Google whether anyone else agrees. You need both, but on-page comes first, because links pointed at a badly structured page are wasted.
How long does on-page SEO take to show results? +
Faster than most SEO work. Title and meta description changes can affect click-through rate within two to four weeks of being recrawled, because you are improving performance on rankings you already hold. Structural and content changes typically take four to twelve weeks to affect position. Core Web Vitals improvements show in field data after roughly 28 days, since that is the rolling window Google uses.
What is the ideal title tag length? +
50 to 60 characters. Beyond that Google truncates it in the results, so any value in the tail is lost to the reader. Front-load the primary keyword, keep every title unique across the site, and write it to earn the click rather than only to match the query — a title that ranks fifth and gets clicked often outperforms one that ranks third and does not.
How long should a meta description be? +
105 to 155 characters. Google rewrites meta descriptions frequently — often more than half the time — but a well-written one is used more often than a missing one, and it directly affects click-through rate when it is used. Include the keyword naturally and end with a reason to click.
How many H1 tags should a page have? +
Exactly one. The H1 is the strongest on-page signal of what a page is about, and multiple H1s dilute that into ambiguity. Use H2s for major sections and H3s for subsections, without skipping levels. This is one of the most common on-page errors we find, including on the sites of agencies selling on-page SEO.
Does keyword density still matter? +
Not as a target to hit. Google has not used a simple density threshold for many years; it evaluates whether a page comprehensively covers a topic, which involves related terms, entities and structure rather than a repetition ratio. Writing to a density percentage produces worse content and no ranking benefit. What matters is that the primary keyword appears in the title, H1, opening paragraph and naturally through the body, and that related concepts are genuinely covered.
How many internal links should a page have? +
Ten to fifteen contextual links on a long-form page is a reasonable target, though the number matters less than the structure. Use descriptive anchor text taken from your body copy rather than “click here,” link your most important pages from several relevant places, and build hub-and-spoke clusters rather than linking at random. Internal linking is one of the highest-return and most neglected parts of on-page SEO.
What are Core Web Vitals and what should mine be? +
Three measures of real-world page experience. Largest Contentful Paint should be under 2.5 seconds — how long until the main content appears. Interaction to Next Paint should be under 200 milliseconds — how quickly the page responds when someone taps. Cumulative Layout Shift should be under 0.1 — how much the layout jumps while loading. Check yours free in PageSpeed Insights; the field data section reflects real visitors and matters more than the lab score above it.
Do I need schema markup? +
Yes, and most sites have none or have it implemented incorrectly. Schema is structured data telling search engines what your content means rather than only what it says, which is how prices, ratings, availability and FAQ answers appear directly in results. It is also increasingly how AI assistants read pages reliably. At minimum every page should carry BreadcrumbList and Organization schema plus the appropriate content type, in JSON-LD, validated in the Rich Results Test.
What is keyword cannibalisation and do I have it? +
Cannibalisation is two or more of your own pages targeting the same keyword. Google picks one and suppresses the others, often choosing the weaker page, and your link equity and click data split between them. It is extremely common on sites that have published for years without a keyword map. You can spot it by searching site:yourdomain.com plus the keyword and seeing whether several pages appear that all seem to want to rank for it.
Can on-page SEO alone get me to page one? +
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on competition. In a low-competition niche, or where competitors have neglected their own on-page work, a well-optimised page can reach page one with no link building at all. In competitive commercial categories you will need authority as well. What on-page reliably does is ensure you rank as high as your existing authority allows, which for most sites is meaningfully higher than where they currently sit.
How does on-page SEO affect AI search and ChatGPT? +
Substantially, and it is largely the same discipline with more structure. AI assistants extract answers from pages that are clearly organised, factually precise and marked up with schema. Leading a section with a direct forty-to-sixty word answer before the supporting detail, phrasing H2s as the questions your content answers, and using FAQ schema all make your content easier to extract. The pages already doing on-page SEO well are the ones being cited.
How much do on-page SEO services cost? +
It is priced three ways. Per page, where international rates run roughly $50 to $300 depending on complexity. As a one-time site optimisation project, typically $500 to $5,000 internationally depending on page count. Or within a monthly retainer, where Indian agency packages commonly start around $199 a month for a small site. Indian rates for equivalent scope sit well below international ones, which is the practical reason to hire here.
